These castles might seem to one straight from the pages of some fairy tale. They look beautiful eerie at the same time. Just like every fairytale has a darker aspect to it, these castles have many haunted tales associated with them. Read on to learn about some of the most haunted castles of this world:
Voergaard Castle is located in the scenic Danish town of Dronninglund. This fort is an artistic masterpiece that comes with a darker, eerie past. According to legend, IngeborgSkeel who had purchased the castle in 1578, drowned the architect of the castle in a moat so that the architect could not design another similar one. Locals tell that they have Skeel’s spirit wandering across the castle after nightfall.
This fort is considered one of the most haunted places in the whole of the world. In the 17th century, this fort was abandoned after being cursed. The fort is located at the foothills of the Aravali mountain ranges in the state of Rajasthan. As per a popular tale, a sage had cursed the palace and the city after the king did not obey his commands. Entry to this fort after sunset is forbidden strictly.

Bran Castle hardly needs any introduction. Also referred to as Dracula’s Castle, this castle is often associated with the character of Vlad III Dracula, the historical bloodsucker. In his famed novel, ‘Dracula’ Bran Stoker has drawn inspiration from this castle and his story.
This cave castle was constructed in 1274. This lavish castle is located in Slovenia and is a spooky place indeed. The paranormal tales associated with this castle have attracted many daredevils to it down the years. The Predjama Castle had been KnightErazemLueger’s residence. He was murdered by his servants inside this castle itself. It is said that his spirit now haunts the castle.
Several paranormal investigations have been conducted inside the Larnaca Castle. Constructed between the year 1871 and the year 1887, this luxurious palace used to be the residence of a local politician with the name William Larnach. The castle’s key attraction is its grand, spacious ballroom which is thought to be haunted now by the spirit of Kate, Larnach’s daughter, who died at the age of 26 due to typhoid.
