The heart is one of the most vital organs of our body and without the heart, the body cannot stay alive. With the passage of time, it has turned out to be even more important to keep the heart healthy as about 52% of the deaths each year are cardiovascular deaths taking place below 70 years of age. Death of heart attacks has increased a lot across the past decades. Heart attacks have become one of the primary causes of death globally.
When calcified, fatty plaque gets deposited in the coronary arteries and hinders the free flow of blood through the arteries, a heart attack takes place. Heart diseases do not just occur overnight. The ground for heart diseases is set up across the years, depending on one’s food habits, lifestyle, exercise, and more. Some of the contributing factors for a heart attack include cholesterol, diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity, genetics, and unhealthy lifestyle habits such as eating oily foods, smoking or drinking, etc.
It is very important to prevent toxins from accumulating in the arteries and that can be done by consuming antioxidants on a regular basis. Curcumin, a compound in Turmeric or Haldi improves those endothelial functions. It comes with extremely powerful anti-inflammatory impacts and is a pretty powerful antioxidant. Thus, arterial capacity and flexibility improve if turmeric is taken regularly year after year.
To have a healthy heart and keep heart-related ailments at bay, you must follow a healthy diet as per the doctrines of Ayurveda.
Your diet should include the following-
Plenty of proteins and veggies such as tofu, lentils, green gram, rice, millet, barley, etc. can prove to be extremely beneficial for one’s diet as they can help in dissolving the blockages and toxins from one’s arteries speedily.
One’s diet should include 60 percent veggies, 30 percent proteins, and 10 percent carbs.
A combination of ½ teaspoon garlic juice and ½ teaspoon ginger juice is ideal to be consumed twice every day for improved heart health. It should be consumed with lukewarm water.
Your diet should exclude the following-
Sour veggies like tomatoes and sour fruits like pineapples, oranges, lemons, grapefruits, any type of vinegar, etc. should be dropped from the diet. Hard-to-digest food items like Red Meat, Maida too should be dropped as they can increase the level of cholesterol in one’s body. Wheat, fermentation-triggering food items like cheese, yogurt, and alcohol must be avoided also.
