Exploring North-east India

There are plenty of things to be done when you plan to explore eastern India. You can start with a tour of Kolkata and visit some of the historical monuments in the city. Then you can move towards the northeast, a region that’s culturally distinct and full of natural splendor. The seven sister states of the North-East include Assam, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, and Nagaland. Each state has something special to offer. Kamakhya Temple in Assam, Ujjyanta Palace in Tripura, Tawang monastery in Arunachal Pradesh, Mamit in Mizoram, Double Decker Living Root Bridge in Meghalaya, Diezephe Craft Village in Nagaland are some of the must-visit places of northeast India.

Exploring the Rann of Kutch

This is indeed a unique place to visit. The vast stretch of this silvery-white salt desert looks heavenly on a moonlit night. The Rann is actually a salt marsh and is located in the state of Gujarat. It is divided into the Greater Rann and the Little Rann. The Rann of Kutch is a barren stretch of land and remains dry all year round. The best time to visit the Rann is during the Rann Utsav, an annual fest held across 3-4 months each year. A camel ride across the Rann is never to be missed!
