Gandhi Smriti, Delhi
Gandhi Smriti Museum was previously referred to as the Birla House. The museum is dedicated to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi Ji. At this museum, Gandhi Ji had spent the remaining 144 days of his life. Later he was assassinated on the 30th of January, 1948.
Salar Jung Museum, Hyderabad
The Salar Jung Museum of Hyderabad was inaugurated on the 16th of December, 1951. The museum stands on the Musi River’s banks in the city of Hyderabad. It is basically an art museum. Being one among the three national museums of the country, the Salar Jung Museum is home to perhaps the most extensive collection of paintings and antiques.

Victoria Memorial Museum, Kolkata
This is perhaps the most beautiful museum in the whole of India. The museum is built out of white marble and has a stunning, palatial look. The museum consists of 25 galleries. Some of the most prominent galleries at the museum are the sculpture gallery, the royal gallery, the portrait gallery, and also the Kolkata gallery, among several others.
Hall of Fame, Leh
This museum is located on the Leh-Kargil Road and has been constructed under the initiative of the Indian Army in remembrance of the martyrs of the Indo-Pak wars. This is a 2-storeyed museum and comes with varied sections. In one of the sections, you’ll get to see the various weapons that the Indian soldiers had used during the battle of Kargil. In another section of the museum captured arms and ammunition are exhibited.
Heritage Transport Museum, Gurgaon
This is the first transport museum in the country. It is themed on the history as well as the evolution of the human transportation mode. The area covered by the exhibition gallery of the museum is 95000 sq ft. It is located in Gurgaon’s Tauru region. Some of the most notable galleries that the museum houses include the Two-wheelers gallery, the Automobile Gallery, Maritime Gallery, and Collectible India Toys on Transport Gallery, among the others.
